Overdue Update

How far along: 30 weeks 4 days
Total weight gain/loss: Up 32 lbs as of my 29week appointment
Maternity clothes? Yep
Sleep: Pretty good!
Best moment this week: Baby shower at Tony's cousin Kim's house. It was BEAUTIFUL!
Movement? Lots of movement. This girl can go nuts.
Food cravings: Water and fruit
Gender prediction: GIRL
Belly button in or out? In
What I miss: Philly rolls and deli sandwiches
What I am looking forward to: Fourth of July and my birthday! (the 5th)
Milestones: Officially past 30 weeks!
Things I've been experiencing this week: Feet hurting, some heartburn, carpal tunnel in the mornings
Showing? Yes!
Size of baby: Size of a cucumber, 15.2-16.7 inches in length and 2.5-3.8 lbs.
What Baby is up to: She is strong enough to grasp a finger now! Her brain is getting wrinklier to make room for brain tissue, and her skin is getting smoother as she gains more fat

Phew! Things have been a little crazy around here since summer started only a week and a half ago. It started out a little rough. Last Sunday (Fathers day) we had to say goodbye to our little Isabelli (my mom and my's dog we got when I was still in high school). It was very unexpected...she passed in her sleep so while that was good for her, not suffering or in any pain, it was extremely difficult for us. Especially because just the night before she was over at our house playing and bossing around the other dogs, being her usual spunky self. The first few days were so hard on us but its becoming a lot easier as time goes by. I miss her so much and I'm sad she can't meet Kenadie but I'm thankful for the time we had with her and that she never suffered.

Anyways, then our good friends Shea and Becky arrived a couple of nights ago from Florida and are staying a whole month! We are so excited they are here and can't wait to spend this month with them. They were our neighbors when we lived in Florida in our married housing a.k.a "Mango". Its too bad everyone from our Mango community can't be here! It was such a great group of people and Tony and I miss everyone SO MUCH!

Also, I had my first family baby shower this past Saturday and it was so beautifully done...everything was just perfect. They had a ladybug theme which was adorable. I only have a few pictures from my phone so I will post those for now. Thanks again to Kim and Jeni for throwing such a fun shower!

Let's see, what else... we are still enjoying our birthing class so much. We are learning tons of relaxation techniques and laboring positions to use when the big day comes. I have always planned on getting an epidural, because duh, why wouldn't you? BUT now I am almost thinking it might be a fun(?) challenge to myself to try to go all natural without an epidural. My main reasoning being you are so limited in laboring positions with an epidural. No walking, no labor ball, no standing, etc. I don't know... we will see.

A few shower pictures:
Diaper cake. Kim made this but it totally looks professionally done!

My mom-in-law made this fruit baby. It was so cute!

Me and Ashley, my good friend and birthday twin!

Some randoms from the week:

My dad just got us this carseat for Kenadie. Starting to feel like we may actually be having a baby! Haha

My new obsession from Domenico's. The main best ingredient: roasted red bell pepper mayo. Ohmygosh - delicious! Also has cream cheese, avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, and a slice of mozzarella. I don't know if it makes up for the fact that I can't eat deli meat but it comes pretty dang close!

My funny Zoey girl

Nursery progress:
Kenadie's grandparents (my in-laws) got us this beautiful dresser! I am just in love with this furniture set. It's exactly what I have always wanted and it looks perfect in the nursery. They also got us the four drawer taller dresser from the picture below next to the crib. Thanks again Mom and Dad O!

Here's a better picture of the glider and ottoman from the parents in Tony's class. It is SO comfy and looks awesome in the nursery. I literally sit in that chair at least 5 times a day to sit and rock and think about what else I want to do to the room. Sometimes Tony will sit on the ottoman and we will read the baby a story. Cheesy I know, but it makes us feel closer to her. And you can see the boppy pillow our friends Jenny and Jon sent us from FL! I can't wait to use it!

Showing off the quilt our friend Becky made for Kenadie. I am in love with this quilt and was secretly hoping we would get one from her because I love all of the quilts she makes. I can't wait for Kenadie to have tummy time on it!

Here is the other side of the quilt AND showing off the mobile my mom just got for the crib in addition to all of the bedding! Adorable is the only way to describe this mobile. It has little starfish and seahorses hanging on it and totally completes the crib. Thank you mom!!

Ok, off to dinner to celebrate my mom-in-law's birthday!!! Happy birthday shoutout to the world's greatest mother-in-law! We love you!

I promise to not go two weeks without an update again! :)

  1. Yayy! We are SO happy to be here with you! I LOVE Miss Kenadie's nursery, and it was so sweet to feel her kicking the other day. And I just loooove seeing her quilt in her room. It matches perfectly! :) :)
